Introduction to Show Control

Show control is the practice of connecting two or more entertainment control systems (such as lighting, sound, video, pyro, etc.). It’s the technology underlying highly precise, complex and tightly synchronized shows, from a small band with lighting cues timed to their music, to a large football game halftime-show spectacular, and from a museum presentation to the most epic concert. Based on John Huntington’s 2023 book, Introduction to Show Control, this session gives an overview of the underlying technologies used to leverage human capability to create these sophisticated shows, then moves on to an overview of real-world applications.
