Music students need a broad set of skills in order to find success in the new arts economy. Skills like technological fluency, financial management, and marketing are essential for any music student's future success. This presentation will provide ideas for using business and entrepreneurship concepts to teach an undergraduate Career Preparation course. Entrepreneurial strategies like vetting and generating ideas, business development, and user profiles can help students think creatively about their place in the music industry and a blueprint for getting there. The presentation will provide ideas, outlines, and sample assignments.
