Roy Head

Roy Head was born a sharecropper's son in the tiny town of Three Rivers, Texas. Growing up listening to what he called "Chitlin records," Roy was heavily influenced by early Rhythm & Blues musicians. Roy Head's recording of "Treat Her Right" propelled him to stardom in the middle of the British Invasion and he created a lifelong career in rhythm and blues and country music. Roy, along with his band, the Traits, signed with Scepter Records and began laying down tracks such as “Never Make Me Blue” and “Get Back” as early as 1964.
