Eligibility to Attend
The NAMM Show is a business-to-business trade event intended for qualified professionals in the global music products, pro audio, entertainment technology, live event production, music education, and related industries.
Registration is subject to verification of eligibility. Event Management reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve, deny, revoke, or cancel any registration if eligibility requirements are not met or false or misleading information is provided.
Registration & Credentials
Each attendee must be individually registered. Official event credentials remain the property of Event Management, are valid only for the individual to whom they are issued, are non-transferable, and must be worn visibly while on event property. Government-issued photo identification may be required to obtain or verify credentials. Altered, transferred, or misused credentials may be confiscated.
Admission
Admission to any portion of the Event is at the discretion of Event Management. Certain events, educational sessions, networking functions, concerts, receptions, or special experiences may require separate registration, invitations, age restrictions, additional credentials, or may be subject to capacity limitations. Event Management reserves the right to modify schedules, locations, programming, speakers, performances, and event access without prior notice.
Professional Conduct
The NAMM Show exists to foster meaningful business relationships, professional development, innovation, and collaboration throughout the global music products industry. Attendees are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times. Prohibited conduct includes harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threatening behavior, verbal or physical abuse, disruptive or unsafe conduct, damage to property, illegal substances, violations of applicable laws or venue policies, or interference with exhibitors, speakers, performers, attendees, or Event operations.
Business Activities
The NAMM Show is a trade event designed to facilitate business relationships within the music products industry. Unauthorized solicitation (including suitcasing), demonstrations, product promotion, recruiting, surveying, distribution of literature, or commercial activities outside contracted exhibit space or approved sponsorship opportunities are prohibited. Over-the-counter sales involving immediate delivery are prohibited unless specifically authorized by Event Management. Product samples and approved promotional giveaways are permitted where authorized.
Suitcasing & Unauthorized Solicitation
Purpose
This policy protects the investment of exhibiting companies and ensures every organization doing business on the show floor participates as a contracted exhibitor. "Suitcasing" is when a manufacturer of a product or a service provider attends the show without purchasing exhibit space, and instead soliciting business from attendees in hotel rooms, hospitality suites, lounges, hallways, or other non-contracted areas, and is strictly prohibited.
Policy
- Booth space is required. Any commercial or service provider company or individual conducting business, demonstrating products, distributing literature, taking orders, or soliciting customers in connection with the show must have a contracted booth on the official show floor.
- Solicitation is confined to leased space. All sales activity, product demonstrations, and customer solicitation must take place within the exhibitor's own leased booth space. Exhibitors may not solicit business in aisles, other exhibitors' booths, meeting rooms, lobbies, or common areas. Sponsorships may provide an exception.
- Off-site solicitation is prohibited. No company, exhibitor, or individual, whether registered for the show or not, may use hotel rooms, hospitality suites, private showrooms, restaurants, or any other off-site location to show product, solicit orders, or conduct sales meetings in connection with the show, unless that location has been separately and formally sanctioned by show management and the represented company or brand is exhibiting at NAMM.
- Badges are for contracted exhibitors and their staff only. Badges may not be used to gain entry for the purpose of conducting unauthorized business. Obtaining a badge under false pretenses, or using a badge to access the show while conducting suitcasing activity, is a violation of this policy.
Enforcement
- Any individual or company found in violation of this policy will have their badge(s) confiscated and revoked immediately, with no refund of badge or registration fees.
- Show management reserves the right to take additional action, including removal from the show.
Reporting
Exhibitors and attendees who witness suspected suitcasing activity should report it to show management on-site. Reports will be reviewed and addressed promptly, and confidentiality will be maintained where possible.
Photography, Video & Recording
Attendees are expected to respect the intellectual property and proprietary business information of exhibitors, manufacturers, artists, speakers, and fellow attendees. Photography, audio recording, or video recording of products, demonstrations, presentations, meetings, conversations, or exhibit displays should not occur without permission of the exhibiting company or individual being recorded. Commercial photography, livestreaming, filming, or recording for publication or commercial purposes requires prior written approval from Event Management.
By attending the Event, you acknowledge that Event Management and its authorized representatives may photograph, record, livestream, or otherwise capture images, audio, and video throughout the Event. You grant Event Management the irrevocable right to use your name, image, likeness, voice, and statements for promotional, educational, archival, editorial, or marketing purposes without compensation.
Badge Scanning & Information Sharing
Exhibitors and sponsors may request to scan your event credential. By voluntarily allowing your badge to be scanned, you authorize the release of your registration information to that exhibitor or sponsor in accordance with the Event Privacy Policy. Future communications from those organizations are governed by their own privacy practices.
Minors (Under 18)
Parents or legal guardians registering an attendee under the age of 18 must add the minor during their own registration process and accept the required Child/Youth Embedded Guest Waiver. Minors must remain under the continuous supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Event Management reserves the right to restrict access to certain areas or events based on age or safety considerations. Childcare is not provided.
Security & Safety
To promote a safe event environment, attendees may be subject to security screening, bags may be inspected, prohibited items may be denied entry or confiscated, and attendees must comply with instructions issued by Event staff, venue personnel, or public safety officials.
Drones, UAVs, hoverboards, and similar devices are prohibited. Full-face masks, costumes, face coverings, or attire that obscures an attendee's identity or depicts violent imagery are prohibited. Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside the Anaheim Convention Center and in courtyard and balcony areas. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas at least 25 feet from building entrances.
Health
Attendees must comply with all applicable health, safety, and emergency protocols established by Event Management, the venue, or governmental authorities. Individuals who present a risk to the health or safety of others may be denied admission or removed from the Event.
Personal Property
Attendees are solely responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings. Event Management, the venue, exhibitors, sponsors, contractors, and affiliated organizations assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
Personal items, including purses, backpacks, briefcases, and rolling briefcases, are permitted provided they do not exceed 17 x 12 x 8 inches. Large bags and luggage are not permitted inside the Event and should be left at your hotel or checked at Bag and Coat check.
