Roy Elkins was working in a bowling alley in Memphis when he saw a small ad for a guitar salesman at Amro Music. He jumped at the chance and was hired by Chip Averwater who served as an early mentor for Roy who took to selling immediately. Roy later worked at Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center and for Ensoniq before he had an idea to support musicians outside of selling gear. In 2000 Roy created a website dedicated to hosting musicians’ websites. The company grew to include over 2,000 websites and branched into providing the licensing of his client’s music for film and television. Roy is also proud of the fact that he has not missed a NAMM Show since his first in 1986.
