Paula Lang

Paula Lang’s father, Andreas Prüller, owned a company in Schönbach producing purflings for violins, cellos and guitars. After World War II, the Czech government started nationalizing production facilities and due to his experience in the application of varnish to string instruments, Andreas Prüller was recruited to work at the government owned Cremona company producing musical instruments. Paula started working at Cremona in the office and was responsible for checking instruments for export. She married Ernst Lang 1958 and ten years later, the couple was allowed to move to Bubenreuth in West Germany. Paula and Ernst Lang were supported by relatives in the beginning but soon started to supply purflings to companies such as Höfner and Klier, and also for export markets. Paula and Ernst Lang ran their business until they retired 1975.
