Ernie Lansford has served our industry well. With his attention focused on his customers and dedication to their satisfaction, Ernie has earned the respect and friendship of many – both suppliers and dealers. As a sales rep for St. Louis Music and Peavey, Ernie was well-traveled, which allowed him to promote the importance of NAMM member services as well as the educational programs created by the American Music Conference. Ernie has also been a strong proponent of this interview program, seeking to preserve the rich history of the industry he loves.

Fabio Lessa has established himself as a premier force in the Brazilian music scene, serving as a first-call bassist and musical director for some of South America’s most influential artists. Growing up immersed in the rich rhythmic traditions of Brazil, he developed a style that seamlessly blends traditional Latin grooves with modern pop and funk sensibilities. His career is highlighted by his work with icons such as Gilberto Gil, Ivete Sangalo, and Preta Gil, for whom he has served as a long-time musical director.

Ney Nakamura established Marutec Music, a distribution company based in Brazil in 1994. The company distributed Yamaha consumer keyboards in the early days and later expanded into the guitar market when Ney acquired the Tagima brand from Seizi Tagima. After acquiring Tagima, Ney and his staff embarked on a quest to establish the brand via strong players who endorsed the brand.
