Doug LaLonde was a professional musician before being drafted to serve in the US Army during the Korean War. He played percussion in the army and while stationed in San Francisco began his long and successful career with the Sherman Clay retail chain. Doug began in the MI department but soon learned the piano market and opened new stores for the company in Southern California. While in the LA area, Doug sold pianos to a host of celebrities both in music and in the movies. He also became an expert on all things Steinway, which continued to serve him throughout his career. After moving to San Diego and marrying keyboard artist Rosemary Bailey, Doug purchased Piano Exchange in Mission Valley for yet another adventure in the music industry!
