Joe Calzone’s lifelong passion for drumming inspired a career that would forever impact the way musical instruments and professional equipment are protected and transported around the world. Growing up in Norwalk, Connecticut, Joe performed with local bands and quickly recognized the need for stronger, more reliable road cases designed specifically for touring musicians. Working closely with fellow performers and crew members, he developed innovative case designs that soon became trusted standards throughout the music products industry. Founded in the mid-1970s, Calzone Case Company steadily expanded beyond the music business into aerospace, military, trade show, and commercial applications while maintaining its reputation for durability and craftsmanship. In 1996 Joe further strengthened the company’s legacy by acquiring Anvil Cases, one of the most respected names in protective cases, followed by the acquisition of Ascot Cases in 2013. Through decades of innovation and leadership, Joe helped guide Calzone into becoming one of the largest and most respected fabricated case manufacturers in the world.
