Mark Terry’s career in the professional audio industry grew from a lifelong fascination with music and technology. As a young man he dreamed of becoming a recording engineer and began his career delivering tapes for recording studios, an experience that soon led to work as an assistant recording engineer. His growing knowledge of studio equipment and recording technology eventually led him into sales, where he began representing and selling professional audio gear, including mixing consoles. Mark went on to work with companies such as Trident and New England Digital before joining Harman International, where he worked closely with founder Sidney Harman and spent more than twenty years helping guide the company’s growth, including serving as president of JBL. Throughout his career Mark became known for helping companies strengthen their operations and turn around struggling divisions. In addition to his corporate leadership, Mark served on the NAMM Board of Directors, where he championed greater inclusion of professional audio companies in NAMM’s conversations and initiatives, helping to shape changes that continue to influence the music products industry today.
