Scott McDowell always enjoyed the social element of making music. He played trumpet in school and sang in the choir but also fell into computer design at an early age. He was designing websites in the early 1990s but admits he wanted to attend Berklee College of Music in part to play music but also to escape computers. When he could no longer play trumpet he found a happy medium in creating computer music. After moving to San Francisco he interned at Hyde Street Studio after a less positive experience with the first studio he worked for. He felt the vibe at Hyde Street right away and by 2007 he became a partner in Wally’s Hyde Out, a studio within the Hyde Street Studios complex. He continues to feel right at home within the Hyde Street community, a feeling he tries to convey to all of the interns, visitors, and staff alike.
