Thomas Nordegg is a highly respected guitar technician and industry veteran whose career has spanned more than four decades, working alongside some of the most influential guitarists in modern music. Originally from Vienna, Austria, Thomas was inspired to pursue a life in music after first hearing The Beatles. In 1972, he moved to the United States, where his passion for guitars and technology led him to a career behind the scenes as a trusted technician. Thomas’s big break came when he joined Frank Zappa’s team, working with him for seven years and gaining invaluable experience that would shape his career. Over the years, he has worked with an impressive roster of artists, including Missing Persons, Duran Duran, Steve Lukather, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, and The Pretenders. Known not only for his technical expertise but also as a collaborator and problem-solver, Thomas has served as a key advisor on guitar technology and performance systems. He has worked extensively with Steve Vai, managing his guitar rigs on tour and helping deliver the precision and reliability required at the highest level of performance.
