Ann Foster is the matriarch of the Foster Family String Band and a guitar player in this Bluegrass group. Her husband Bill and his brother sang as a duet growing up so it was natural for Bill to extend the family tradition when he and Ann had children. Their son Will played the banjo, daughter Melissa played Mandolin, and all four sang as they toured around performing at Bluegrass Festivals, fairs, and special events. The group formed in 1970 while Will and Melissa were still in school, and mostly performed on the weekend and school holidays. Ann is so proud of the music they made together and the closeness the family created by working as a team and making people happy.
