Bob Knight
Oral History Information
Bob Knight entered the music industry shortly after World War II and watched instruments slowly make their way back into music stores. He was hired by C.G. Conn and enrolled in their band repair school, which, as Bob recalled, was filled mostly with former soldiers. The Conn Company later asked Bob to help run its accessories division in San Francisco, called Continental Music. He fell in love with the industry and went on to expand his career as a road representative. Once he began traveling, he was hooked and remained active in the music industry for more than 40 years before his retirement. Along the way, he formed many lasting friendships in music stores across the country, always happy to help and support others whenever he could. His influence ran deep—nearly as deep as his passion.
