Dori Amarilio
Oral History Information
Dori Amarilio is a composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist whose career spans film, television, and video game scoring, as well as performance in the Los Angeles jazz scene. Born into a musical family as the son of award-winning composer Moni Amarilio, Dori began studying guitar at a young age and quickly developed into a professional musician, performing, composing, and serving as a musical director while still in his teens. After studying composition at Israel’s Rimon School of Music, the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, and UCLA’s film scoring program, Dori established himself as a versatile artist, blending his background in jazz—particularly Brazilian styles—with his work in scoring and production. His diverse portfolio includes collaborations with legendary songwriter Mike Stoller, projects with Oscar-winning director Charles Jarot, and orchestral recordings for major game titles featuring ensembles in the United States and Europe. In addition to his work as a composer, Dori has been an active performer and producer, building a reputation for delivering creative, high-quality music across multiple platforms. He was interviewed for the NAMM Oral History program at the 2026 NAMM Show in Anaheim.
