NAMM Adds 38 Industry Interviews to Its Historical Archive During 2009 NAMM Show

Carlsbad, Calif.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, recently announced that its resource center staff completed 38 interviews with industry dignitaries during the 2009 NAMM Show in Anaheim.

The filmed conversations lend valuable and historical insight into the music products industry and add to the growing collection of industry-related stories and dialogue documented by NAMM since June 2000.

The interviewees represented each of the major segments of the industry from instrument manufacturing, retailing and publishing, and provided historical perspectives of different countries over several decades. By the end of the trade show, the total number of interviews surpassed 1,100.

“The only remaining letter in the alphabet not represented by an interviewee’s last name—letter ‘I’—was covered by the stories of Gary Ingle and Gabe Ireland at this year’s NAMM Show nearly nine years after the first NAMM interview was completed,” said NAMM Historian Dan Del Fiorentino.
