NAMM Announces New Potential Host Cities for 2005 Summer Session

Nashville, Tenn.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced four potential cities in contention to host the 2005 Summer Session trade show. In addition to Nashville, Tenn., the show’s home for the past 11 years, the list of contending cities includes: Austin, Texas; Indianapolis, Ind. and Washington D.C.

Over the years, NAMM’s Summer Session has demonstrated solid growth, creating the need for more exhibit space in a contiguous exhibit hall. Recently, the city of Nashville announced that it will not be expanding its current convention center or constructing a new facility in the foreseeable future, prompting the association to research other possible locations.

“We now have and will continue to have an excellent working relationship and friendship with the city of Nashville, which has allowed the Summer Session to flourish all these years,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO, NAMM.

NAMM’s Summer Session typically draws 20,000 attendees from the music products industry and generates approximately $20 million annually for the local economy. Next year's Summer Session will be held in Nashville July 23–25, 2004.
