Laura Whitmore discovered her passion for music at a young age, learning guitar and writing songs as a teenager. She went on to earn a B.S. in Music Merchandising and an MBA in Marketing from Hofstra University, blending her love for music with strong business acumen. Laura began her career at CBS Records and later joined Korg, where she advanced from marketing assistant to marketing manager and artist relations representative for Korg, Marshall, and Vox. Combining her creativity and marketing expertise, she founded Mad Sun Marketing, a full-service agency dedicated to supporting music and audio companies, as well as the Women’s International Music Network (WiMN), which presents the She Rocks Awards at the NAMM Show—an event she launched in 2013 to celebrate women in the industry. In addition to her many professional roles, Laura continues to write and perform her own music around the world. She participated in the 2025 Women of NAMM (WoN) Leadership Summit, a yearly event designed to foster leadership development and expand participants’ professional networks.
