Alfred Loib

Alfred Loib was a devoted musician, businessman, and friend to many in the music products industry. After beginning his career as a banker in Germany, Alfred followed his heart and opened a small music store, where he discovered the joy of helping others find the instruments and products that inspired them to play. His passion for music and his skill in business led him to establish Bauer & Hieber in 1983, one of Europe’s first music print wholesalers to use a computer database to manage its growing catalog. Under his thoughtful leadership, the company became one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Alfred passed away in 2025 yet his legacy of joy, generosity, and dedication to music continues under the leadership of his daughter, Corina.
