Foreigner (Band)

Larry Fast is best known as the innovative keyboardist and synthesizer composer who helped bring electronic musical instruments into pop music, beginning in the 1970s. His Synergy series of synthesizer music albums beginning in 1975 brought great popularity to the instruments, which were being invented and improved by the likes of Moog, ARP and Oberheim. In later years Larry played a key role in many of Peter Gabriel’s recordings as well as those with Foreigner. 

Jeff Jacobs grew up in Chicago and remembers going to Gand Music to buy his first very own instrument, although his parents had an upright piano in their home. Jeff’s purchase was the ever-popular Fender Rhodes of the late 1960s. His playing career found him in the studio with Billy Joel with whom he toured for several years. While with Billy they recorded such hits as “We Didn’t Start the Fire” and “River of Dreams” before Jeff joined Foreigner in 1991. Mark Schulman remembers seeing The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show when he was three. The moment he saw Ringo something resonated within him and he knew what he wanted to do. Mark started playing cello as a kid and slowly started learning how to play drums as well. In high school he played in several different bands where he picked up different skills like Jazz, Rock & Roll, Pop and so many other genres. He was able to translate those skills into playing with bands from a wide range of genres including Cher, Foreigner, Velvet Revolver and currently with P!nk.
