Charles Rose began playing trombone in the 7th grade and by 1970, when he was still a teenager, formed a band with three trombones. It was the beginning of a long and successful career in music. Clayton Ives at Wishbone Recording Studio in Alabama hired Charles as a studio musician. Clayton soon discovered Charles’ music notation skills and asked him to write lead sheets for the recording sessions. Jimmy Johnson over at Muscle Shoals Studios hired Charles for sessions, which is where he joined the now-famous group known as Muscle Shoals Horns.
