Bo Engberg was asked by a guitarist friend if he would please build a better amplifier. That one request from a friend change the direction of his career because Bo soon discovered he really enjoyed the inner workings of the amp and thought of a few ways he could improve on the design and functionality. Fast forward to 1979 when he created his first amp and again to 1985 by which time he had sold over 600 units.

Ryan Hewitt grew up following his father, David, on musical adventures that took them around the world. David Hewitt is the award-winning mobile recording engineer who passed down his passion for music and audio to Ryan. Ryan’s career focuses on recording engineering in the studio and mixing. He was mentored by Phil Ramone and Rick Rubin. When Ryan moved to Los Angeles in 2000, he served as a rep for SSL right when studios needed someone to help them install and learn the SSL 9000 software.

Sylvia Massy has always been fascinated by art in all forms. She began painting at an early age and as a teenager had her own radio program. As a musical performer she first focused on learning the skills needed to record her own music but soon discovered many of her friends were requesting her help with their own projects. While working at Larrabee Studios in West Hollywood, Sylvia engineered Tool's smash album Undertow in 1993, subsequently causing a rush of heavy metal bands to seek her out. David Rat vividly remembers his early days in Southern California, when the punk band Black Flag rehearsed just up the street in an old Baptist church. He started hanging around, meeting musicians and absorbing the raw, DIY energy of the punk scene. Soon, he picked up some microphones and a tape deck, capturing live performances and underground shows wherever he could. His curiosity pulled him deeper into the recording world. Chad Smith developed a great sense of rhythm at an early age and attributes that to having music constantly surrounding him. He was in love with the musician’s lifestyle and knew that he wanted to make drumming a career. After putting in the work playing clubs six nights a week and playing in multiple bands with mild success, Chad moved to California and auditioned for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Thirty-two years later, Chad is still the drummer for the Chili Peppers and has played shows in just about every venue all across the world.
