Daniel Jobe
Oral History Information
Daniel Jobe’s passion for music is deeply rooted in his family. His father and uncle played in a lively Bluegrass band, and Daniel fondly remembers watching his father direct music at their church. In fifth grade, he formed a meaningful bond with his inspiring band director, who introduced him to the trombone and ignited his musical journey. While studying music in college, Daniel met his wife, Meredith, and the couple eventually settled in Springfield, Missouri. Though he initially worked for a hotel in finance, Daniel soon joined Palen Music Center, where he taught lessons and thrived as an enthusiastic educational road rep, often visiting the very school where his wife taught music. His background in finance proved invaluable, and he gradually took on greater business responsibilities as the company grew to eight locations, eventually becoming operations manager. Thanks to Palen, he attended his first NAMM Show in 2002, where he met Alan Friedman. Their collaboration has since led to impactful NAMMU sessions focused on tax, inventory, and financial literacy. Today, as a dedicated CPA, Daniel supports music businesses and musicians with comprehensive financial services to ensure lasting success.
