Derek Wright is a dedicated co-owner of Houghton Horns, a renowned music store in Keller, Texas, originally founded in 1985 by Dennis and Karen Houghton with a strong emphasis on expert lessons and precision repairs. Guided by the mission to “spread the joy of music through providing the highest level of products, services, and resources to the brass playing community,” the Houghtons built a trusted team of passionate musicians and educators. In 2016, Derek and his wife Kacie joined the ownership team, bringing fresh energy and forward-thinking ideas to enhance the store’s website, employee management, marketing, and advertising strategies. While celebrated for its exceptional French horns, the store also offers a wide array of high-quality brass instruments, including low brass. Located in a beautifully repurposed church, the store features an inspiring performance space. Derek’s innovative Guided Instrument Tours introduce customers of all ages to the feel, sound, and possibilities of brass instruments.
