Dr. Peter Hanser Strecker
Dr. Peter Hanser Strecker’s great grandfather worked for a descendent of the Schott’s Music Publishing empire. As president of the firm since 1968, Dr. Strecker has played a key role in the technological changes required to ensure growth and success in a new world of publishing. Computers and the Internet were not thought of when young Strecker began working under his grandfather. He celebrates the enormous history of the company while remaining focused on what is needed to survive in the ever-changing world of music publishing. The interview covered some of the changes in the industry such as the copy machine as well as copyright laws; however, it is clear that several more interviews would likely still not cover the history of this legendary company and its accomplishments.
