Joe Abbati played saxophone in his school band and was later given a guitar by an uncle about the same time his interest was growing in progressive rock bands. Joe attended the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and studied music engineering, which led to a career in the gaming industry. After creating music for video games, he returned to the Frost School of Music in 1998 to teach. Helping the school stay on top of the technological advances in music has been rewarding for Joe, especially when hearing success stories from his students, who in many cases, have gone on to careers in a variety of positions throughout the music industry.
