Judith Hill emerged as a powerful musical force through her remarkable versatility as a singer, songwriter, and performer whose career bridges pop, soul, funk, jazz, gospel, and R&B traditions. Raised in Los Angeles in a deeply musical family, Judith developed her artistry through formal studies in music composition while also performing internationally early in her career. She became widely recognized as a sought-after backing vocalist for legendary artists including Michael Jackson, Prince, Josh Groban, and John Legend. In 2009 Judith was selected as Michael Jackson’s duet partner for the planned This Is It concerts and later drew worldwide attention with her emotional performance of “Heal the World” during Jackson’s memorial service. Her musical journey was further highlighted in the Academy Award-winning documentary 20 Feet from Stardom, which celebrated the artistry of background vocalists. As a solo artist, Judith released acclaimed recordings including Back in Time, produced by Prince at Paisley Park, and Letters from a Black Widow, further establishing her distinctive and soulful musical voice.
