Karl D’Amico is a guitarist, composer, and recording artist whose versatile career has spanned live performance, studio recording, film, television, and touring. A graduate of Stony Brook University with a bachelor’s degree in music, Karl began his musical journey in New York, forming a rock band with friends during high school — an early experience that ignited his passion for collaboration and performance. He later immersed himself in the studio world, working alongside producers and musicians who became lasting influences on his musical development. Over the years, Karl has appeared on stages and in recording sessions with a wide range of artists, contributing to film and television soundtracks and numerous recordings. His credits include work connected to projects featuring Will Ferrell, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Ben Stiller. As a member of the influential 1980s group Missing Persons, Karl continues to engage audiences with dynamic live performances, while also performing corporate and special events with The Happiness Band. Karl was interviewed for the NAMM Oral History program in 2024 and again in 2026, where he spoke about the importance of attending The NAMM Show as a place for inspiration, connection, and lifelong learning within the music community.
