Lynn Burkhead

Lynn Burkhead grew up in a musical household where both of her parents played music and encouraged her own musical interests. She began taking piano lessons at a young age and later discovered the oboe in school, an instrument she continued to play throughout college. Lynn especially valued the experience of performing in a large orchestra and credits her teachers with fostering her appreciation for music and ensemble playing. In 2021, she joined The Music Shoppe in Normal, Illinois, where she became Inventory Department Manager. In this important behind-the-scenes role, Lynn helps oversee the flow and accuracy of the company’s inventory, ensuring instruments and music products are organized, accounted for and available to support the needs of customers, educators and students. In 2026, Lynn attended the Women of NAMM Leadership Summit, an experience she greatly enjoyed. She valued the opportunity to learn alongside other women in the industry and came away with a deeper understanding of herself and her own leadership style, insights she was eager to bring back to her role at The Music Shoppe.
