Omer Deutsch

Omer Deutsch’s career as a luthier was fueled by his passion for heavy metal rock. While studying industrial design in college, he worked outside of the music field but dreamed of one day creating his own instruments for others to make music. With the strong support of his wife, Omer built his first OD Guitars instrument in 2015 and began using Facebook and other social media platforms to market his custom designs, which are now played by musicians around the world. It was a pleasure to interview Omer at the 2018 NAMM Show in Anaheim, where he became the first person born in Israel to be included in the NAMM Oral History program. He was interviewed a second time in 2026 in recognition of the 10th anniversary of his guitar company.
