Phil Hunt is the founder and president of Hunt Media, a broadcast and digital consulting group. With his impressive career in radio, Phil provides strategic planning and market analysis for broadcasters in traditional radio stations and online programs. Beginning his career at Belmont College as a music business major while working for Nashville radio stations. The opportunity allowed him to witness some of the biggest changes in Country music, such as the onset of Pop Country in the 1990s with the explosion of such performers as Garth Brooks. Phil also worked closely with Rusty Walker and Rick Shayne, two broadcasters in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, who greatly impacted what songs were played over dozens of stations across the country. The two men had a consulting firm that Phil joined to help artists determine which of their new album cuts would make the best single for radio play. They developed a system that resulted in tremendous success for over 20 years. Phil also played an important role in Country Music Cares, a non-profit group that raises money to combat childhood illnesses.
