Oral History Information

Rick Anderson was in a MBA program that required he write a research paper about a local business. This was his introduction to the Rodgers Instrument Corporation located in Hillsboro, Oregon, for which Rick was associated with (one way or another) over a period of 37 years. Rick, who became the historian for the company and its many innovative products, began working there in 1973. It was the height of the home organ boom with 25% of all instruments sold being organs and nearly half of the NAMM Show floor covered with them. Rick was put in charge of the NAMM Show displays and promoted and sometimes traveled with various concert artists such as Virgil Fox, Keith Chapman and Hector Olivera (who became a friend). Over the years Rick rose to Director of Marketing and later as Regional Sales Manager as well as serving as a board member the National Association of Electronic Organ Manufacturers in the 1970s.
