Roark Galloway
Oral History Information
Roark Galloway started playing in elementary school on the clarinet and enjoyed learning to read music. His father played trumpet in community bands and Roark looked forward to listening to the music over the years but developed a focused interest in drums and percussion. Years later as his career in the science field developed, he focused less on music, until he decided to pursue becoming a percussionist. Roark is a proud member of the New Horizons Band located at NAMM’s Museum of Making Music. This program was created for people who never had the opportunity to play an instrument or for those who played back in school and want to pick it up again. No matter your circumstances, New Horizons Music provides a non-intimidating environment for you to begin or resume making music.
