Robert Frazier is an octogenarian whose distinguished career has spanned jazz, rock, pop, funk, progressive rock, and soul from the mid-20th century forward. A trumpet player who studied piano in junior high with the aunt of Cannonball Adderley, Frazier performed with an extraordinary range of artists including Little Richard, Dizzy Gillespie, and Oingo Boingo. Beyond performance, he built an influential career as a radio executive at KPFK, while also contributing as an educator, writer, producer, and director. Among his notable creative works is the multi-generational stage production Dinner with A Duke and A Count, reflecting his deep connection to the jazz tradition. Frazier’s lifelong dedication to music, broadcasting, and education has allowed him to shape and share the art form across multiple generations.
