Ronnie Stewart

Ronnie Stewart is a respected San Diego drummer and educator whose lifelong passion for music was matched by his dedication to teaching. Growing up in San Diego’s musically vibrant Valencia Park neighborhood, Ronnie was surrounded by talented young musicians, including future stars Nathan East and Hollis Gentry. After being encouraged to play drums in his high school marching band, he quickly discovered an instrument—and a community—that would become central to his life. Ronnie immersed himself in San Diego’s thriving club scene, embracing every opportunity to perform with different musicians and learn from those around him. Over the years, he performed and recorded with such noted artists as Joe Farrell, George Cables, Blue Mitchell, Charles McPherson, Peter Sprague, and Solomon Burke. He also earned an endorsement with Pearl Drums that lasted more than a decade.
