Scott Mandeville

Scott Mandeville is a highly regarded band instrument repair technician who has become a respected teacher and expert within the field. Through his classes, sessions, and writings for NAPBIRT (the National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians), Scott has supported and mentored fellow repair technicians across the industry. He is the owner of Tim’s Music in Sacramento, California, where he oversees operations and trains the store’s repair staff, continuing his commitment to excellence in both craftsmanship and education. Over the years, Scott has been a devoted teacher, consistently offering guidance to those seeking to improve their skills in instrument repair. He has also served as president of NAPBIRT and remains actively involved as an educator and contributor. Scott was interviewed a third time in 2026 alongside fellow past presidents of NAPBIRT, Miles DeCastro  and Jeff Peterson, in celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary, further highlighting his longstanding dedication to the repair community.
