Taylor Walsh
Oral History Information
Taylor Walsh grew up in a family deeply connected to music. Her great-grandfather was a concert violinist and served as first chair of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, while her grandfather played piano, her father performed on guitar and bass, and her brother became a singer. Raised in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Taylor developed her own fervent passion for music through school band programs where she played clarinet. She attended Indian River State College and later the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Event Management. Taylor joined Music Man Inc., a family-owned company that has supported music education throughout South Florida since 1976 with a strong focus on band and orchestra instruments, lessons, rentals, and repairs. As manager of the company’s Bayshore location, Taylor oversees a staff of three employees while coordinating instrument rentals, repairs, and the lesson studio program. Dedicated to growing within the industry, she became involved with the NAMM Young Professionals mentor program and attended her first NAMM Show 2026, where she felt warmly welcomed by members of the Women of NAMM community. Inspired by those connections, Taylor remains excited to continue learning, building relationships, and supporting the next generation of music makers.
