NAMM Announces 2008 NAMM Show Professional Development Sessions Schedule

Daily breakfast sessions and NAMM University sessions held every 30 minutes are designed to maximize attendees' time on the show floor

Carlsbad, Calif.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today announced its NAMM University schedule of events offered free to Members attending the NAMM Show, held Jan. 17–20, 2008, in Anaheim.

The educational sessions are packed with great information and ideas that attendees can put to use in their businesses right away. Taught by industry experts who know the challenges and opportunities of today’s marketplace, NAMM University sessions cover a wide variety of topics, including:

 

  • Sales training
  • Customer service
  • Market development
  • Internet strategies
  • Inventory management
  • Store design
  • Financial management
  • Lesson programs
  • Marketing and promotions

The breakfast sessions kick off Thursday with “Breakfast of Champions,” where Joe Lamond, NAMM president and CEO, will welcome some of the veterans of the music products industry for a series of up-close and personal discussions. On Friday, Bill Hinely will moderate a discussion about some of the most effective and profitable ways to invest precious time and money in your business during the next 12 months. Saturday’s session, “The Retail Apprentice,” will feature Alan Friedman and Danny Rocks and a hand-picked panel of industry insiders for a fun-filled “game show” session. Learn helpful tips and tricks on the running of a music products retail store. The grand finale on Sunday will give show attendees a look at the show’s “can’t miss” products at the popular “Best in Show” session.
