Programs Designed to Support Future Music Products Industry Professionals

NAMM Foundation
CARLSBAD, Calif.

The NAMM Foundation announced today that the deadline for submitting an application for a NAMM Foundation Music Products Industry Scholarship or President’s Innovation Award is Sept. 30, 2009. Up until that date, college students who are pursuing careers in the music products industry can submit their application at www.nammfoundation.org. Students may only apply for one program.

NAMM Foundation Music Products Industry Scholarships offer tuition scholarships of $2,500 to $5,000 to support full-time music business and music education college students who demonstrate unique qualifications and proven interest in pursuing careers in the music products industry. Funds will be administered by the student’s university and may be partially allocated to support costs of travel to the 2010 NAMM Show.

NAMM President’s Innovation Award is provided to under graduate and graduate students.  The cash award supports qualified college students to attend NAMM’s annual global music products trade show in Anaheim, Calif. Awards help with travel needs and expenses to attend the show. Awardees will participate in professional development offerings at the Show and have access to the more than 1,500 music products exhibits that constitute this global music products trade show.

“Industry support of NAMM’s tradeshows allows the NAMM Board to give back to these worthy programs,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO, NAMM. “The scholarships will help to recruit the best and brightest who will become the future leaders of the industry.”
