NAMM to Offer Retail Members New Community-Related Event Marketing Programs This Spring

New Opt-In Programs Designed to Get More People Playing Music, Expose Retailers to the Community and Drive Consumers to Member Retail Stores

Carlsbad, Calif.

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, today announced that this spring it will launch an array of music-related programs that will help many of its independent music products retail Members reach out to the community, expose people to the joys and excitement of making music, and attract new customers to their stores.

The programs offer opportunities such as registering a store-based Summer Music Camp or Program at namm.org and having it promoted to thousands of teens on a Summer Rock Camp page on NAMM’s Web site. This program and the following initiatives were designed to provide retailers with new marketing tools to personally connect with new music makers, and to enhance retailers’ current marketing efforts.

“These exciting new programs were created to allow NAMM Member retailers to break outside the box of their traditional marketing efforts such as print, television or radio advertising,” said Joe Lamond, CEO and president, NAMM. “By getting involved in events such as the Vans Warped Tour or the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Battle of the Bands, retailers are connecting with and demonstrating their commitment to future music makers while driving foot traffic into their stores.”

The programs and opportunities launching this spring include:

  • NAMM/Boys and Girls Clubs of America's MusicMakers Program
  • Drum Corps International 2007 Season
  • Register Your Summer Music Camp or Program
  • The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Battle of the Bands 2007
  • Vans Warped Tour 2007
  • CampJam and DayJams
  • Austin: South By Southwest Music Conference 2007
