New Site Strikes a Positive Chord with Teens and NAMM Member Retailers

Carlsbad, Calif.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced that the Web site for its new teen music-making initiative, “The Music Edge,” has received more than 1 million hits since launching in late May. The new site, themusicedge.com, is designed to connect young people with each other and the world of music making, as well as NAMM Member music products retailers across the United States.

One secret of the site’s initial success has been high-profile partnerships with teen-targeted groups including the USA WEEKEND/John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Teens, TEEN People, Maybelline and the Warped Tour, with new partners joining the effort all the time.

“The Music Edge is unlike anything else out there on the Web because it seeks to inform and educate teens about all the various ways they can enjoy making music,” said Rob Walker, director of market development, NAMM.
