NAMM University continues to diversify its offering of online training courses with the addition of "Profit from Print! All You Need to Know about Print Music." Print music is the fifth-largest product line in the music products industry and has proven to be a lucrative market with retail profit margins of up to 50 percent.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, recently announced it will donate $90,000 to three nonprofit music education programs, further promoting the association’s mission of unifying, leading and strengthening the global music products industry and increasing active participation in music making worldwide. The association will donate $40,000 to the American String Teachers Association (ASTA), $10,000 to the START with the Arts (START) and $40,000 to The Children's Museum of Boston.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, recently made its first appearance as an exhibitor at the annual American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) conference, September 5–7 in Chicago, to continue promoting its music-making message to the growing senior market.

More than 58 percent of music products dealers currently place their purchase orders by phone, according to the 2003 Dealer Technology Survey conducted by NAMM, the International Music Products Association. Although this popular method has been in use for years, it is one that often leads to errors.

The community that hosted one of the most star-packed concerts in memory is going to benefit directly from its proceeds, as The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation donates some $30,000 worth of musical instruments to the Anaheim Union High School District on Monday, September 8, at 11:30 a.m. at Brookhurst Junior High School.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced that the Web site for its new teen music-making initiative, “The Music Edge,” has received more than 1 million hits since launching in late May. The new site, themusicedge.com, is designed to connect young people with each other and the world of music making, as well as NAMM Member music products retailers across the United States.

NAMM’s 11th Summer Session in Nashville came to a close today after three action-filled days of commerce, artist appearances and educational seminars. At the close of the show, NAMM, the International Music Products Association, reported a 2 percent increase in registered attendance, setting another all-time record for the summer trade show. At the show, both buyers and exhibitors displayed a strong sense of optimism about the second half of 2003.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, began the final day of its 2003 Summer Session today with uplifting melodies at the Gospel Music Pancake Breakfast. Before the show floor opened, Dr. Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir, among other gospel solo artists and groups, performed for the crowd at The Hang in the Gaylord Entertainment Center. Also in the morning, NAMM University keynote speaker Al McCree presented his session, “Putting It All Together and Bringing It Home: How to Affect Positive Change in Your Organization!"

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, began the second day of its 2003 Summer Session today with live music in the Gaylord Entertainment Center lobby. Chapman Stick virtuoso Greg Howard performed jazz, rock and original solo compositions for attendees who were waiting for the show floor to open. Many of these show-goers also caught some live music the night before when Gretsch presented the Brian Setzer Trio at the annual Wildhorse Saloon party co-hosted by Fender and NAMM.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today kicked off its 2003 NAMM Summer Session, which drew an international crowd of music products industry professionals—manufacturers, buyers and media—to the Nashville Convention Center and adjoining Gaylord Entertainment Center.

NAMM, the International Music Products Association, and Yamaha today awarded a check for $330,000 to NAMM’s nonprofit charities benefiting from The 2003 NAMM Concert Honoring Sir Elton John, presented by Yamaha. The proceeds from the concert, which was held in Anaheim, Calif., during the 2003 NAMM Show in January, were given to the American Music Conference (AMC), the International Foundation for Music Research (IFMR), the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation and the Museum of Making Music to support their missions of music education and research.
