NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, is looking for back issues of The Music Trades, MMR, Music Inc. and Music & Sound Retailer magazines to complete its set. NAMM’s Resource Center keeps a comprehensive archive of photos, press clippings and video interviews to document the history of the music products industry for use by NAMM Members and the Museum of Making Music.
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, is currently preparing to host the music products industry once again in Nashville, Tenn., at the group’s annual Summer Session trade show (July 23–25, 2004). Last year, retailers and manufacturers of musical instruments and products looking for strong third and fourth quarter sales turned to the Summer Session for new ideas and energy, with many crediting their show experience for the improved results in the second half of the year.
NAMM University expanded its regional professional development courses with the addition of “Real World Sales III—Selling to Today's Customers,” held throughout April in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Salt Lake City.
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, faced the music when its experiment to bring together music educators, the music products industry and families and music makers of all ages from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to the Music and Sound Expo ended with mixed results. At show close, NAMM had issued badges to approximately 1,200 public attendees.
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced that it is seeking worthy candidates to serve as the association’s director of market development, responsible for creating and implementing programs to help the industry target new customers. Rob Walker, NAMM’s current market development director, will be returning to his family in Australia after a successful three-year stint with the organization.

The association is now searching for worthy programs and ideas from within and outside of the music products industry.
In support of national “Music in Our Schools Month,” NAMM, the International Music Products Association and AMC, the American Music Conference, brought legendary singer Isaac Hayes and actress, director and producer Rosanna Arquette to entertain kids at the “Music Makes A World of Happiness” celebration and party on Capitol Hill. The event featured a special performance from the new CD A World of Happiness by the Anne Beers Boy Choir of Washington D.C., a VH1 Save The Music School.
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, today announced final registration and exhibitor numbers for the association’s recently concluded four-day NAMM Show in Anaheim. At show close, NAMM reported an astonishing 10 percent increase in overall registration for a grand total of 74,236 registrants. The organization previously announced breaking the all-time record of exhibitors with 1,340 companies exhibiting at this year’s NAMM Show.
NAMM, the International Music Products Association, ended its 2004 NAMM Show today with more crowds, more business and more entertainment. The day kicked off with an entertaining performance by the Suburban Legends in the Anaheim Convention Center lobby before the doors opened. Other live performances followed throughout the day in the NAMM Member Success Center, on the outdoor convention center stage and outside of the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
