Mel Schiff and his wife Sally established All County Music in Tamarac, Florida.  The first store opened in 1976 with a strong focus on band and orchestra music and repair.  However, Mel’s introduction into the industry began when his father established The Schiff School of Music in Brooklyn, New York.  Mel played a vital role there as a trumpet and accordion teacher.  After his father passed away, Mel moved to Florida where Mel and his wife opened their music store with a focus on school music programs. Sally Schiff and her husband Mel moved from New York to Florida where they decided to open their own music retail business.  All County Music in Tamarac, Florida first opened in 1976 with a strong focus on band and orchestra music and repair.  Sally ran the store while Mel went out to call on the school band directors.  She was so proud when their children worked in the store including their son, Fred, who later took over as president of the company.

Fred Schiff proudly carries on the legacy of his parents, Mel and Sally Schiff, who opened a small, service-oriented music store in Tamarac, Florida, in 1976. Focused on band and orchestra instruments, the store quickly became a trusted resource for local school music programs. In 2022, All County Music was named the NAMM Dealer of the Year and Best Community Retail Store. Fred leads the business with the same unwavering dedication to music education, while expanding its mission through active involvement in local and state government advocacy.
