DJ Grandmaster Caz

Sharon Bechor grew up in the music store her parents established in New York City back in 1975. Today she is the owner and CEO and enjoys sharing the passion her parents had for their customers, which includes DJs, musicians and music lovers around the world. The small store in Manhattan began as a record store and later expanded into providing DJ gear and pro audio products such as speakers and microphones. Having been established in the mid-70s, the store was where Hip-Hop and Rap music emerged out of the Bronx and Brooklyn.

DJ Flawless (Robert Williams Caines Jr.) grew up surrounded by the sounds and culture of hip-hop in the Bronx. The son of pioneering DJ Rockin’ Rob, he was introduced to turntables at an early age and began experimenting with DJ equipment when he was just three years old. Inspired by the music and techniques he heard at home, Flawless quickly developed a passion for the craft and began refining his skills through practice, DJ battles, and mentorship from respected figures in hip-hop including Melle Mel and Grandmaster Caz.

DJ Grandmaster Caz is the pioneering DJ also known as the Cassanova Fly who played a role in the early development of Hip Hop in his hometown of the Bronx in New York.  While Caz is best known today as an MC and lyric writer, he began his career in music as a DJ in the parks of New York mixing records to create unique beats and rhythms.  His lyrics can be heard within the first rap hit record called “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugar Hill Gang.  His work has been an influence on several artists over the years and Caz has been awarded several honors including as an inductee into the B
