Steve Genewick's journey into sound engineering was sparked by his childhood fascination with music and a desire to be part of the band without being on stage. His path led him to Cherokee Studios, where he absorbed knowledge from talented engineers like his future collaborator, Bill Smith. This connection ultimately brought him to Capitol Records, where Steve spent over two decades, most notably working alongside the legendary Al Schmitt. As Al’s trusted Pro Tools expert, Steve’s role was vital in many high-profile projects, forging a deep bond with his mentor.

Michael Marquart established Windmark Recording Studio in Santa Monica, California in 1983. The studio was the location for countless landmark albums including several featuring Michael on drums. He toured with several bands over the years (including Flock of Seagulls) before coming off the road to focus on studio work. He sold the studio to The Neptunes ten years later, yet the studio is still a part of his legacy in music. With his home studio, Michael has recorded nine albums for his own band, A Bad Think, including Simple Rhymes in 2009, Medicine in 2012 and The Savior in 2019

Cato Zane is an accomplished audio engineer and the founder of Lost & Sound Foundry in San Diego, California. Her love for music and physics found a perfect intersection when she discovered audio engineering as a teenager. A multi-instrumentalist who played piano, percussion, and flute during her school years, Cato was always drawn to the creative and technical sides of music. She began her career by recording her friends’ band in high school, which led to a studio assistant role and eventually to gigs as a house sound engineer for musical theater productions.
