Bob Kilpatrick wrote his first song in the fourth grade and went on to pen one of the most popular worship songs in the last fifty years. In his early twenties, Bob and his wife performed Christian songs at churches and special events around the country. Before getting on stage the couple sang together a little song Bob wrote as a prayer. That song, “In My Life Lord Be Glorified,” became a hit when it was recorded by Maranatha! Karen Lafferty played an important role in the early growth and development of Contemporary Christian Music. She put music to the Bible verse Matthew 6:33 in 1974, thus creating the early and influential praise and worship song “Seek Ye First.” The song was released on Maranatha! Music, a Christian record label and has since been used by countless churches around the world.
