Joyce Meekins is a pioneering woman piano technician who has sought every opportunity she can find to encourage young women to join the profession. In 1975 she entered a four-year apprenticeship with a top DC rebuilder, after which she continued as an independent piano technician covering shop, home, and concert work. She has served as President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild three times and in the process helped develop the group into a close-knit family, who often help each other when the need arises.

Dean Reyburn is the piano technician and software engineer who revolutionized the process of tuning pianos with his CyberTuner program. Dean was trained at Moody College on the art of piano repairs and tuning and went on to work in concert halls for over 15 years and with such manufacturers at Steinway and Yamaha. However, it is his contributions to electronic tuning for which most technicians the world over know Dean. His software is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and is fully tested on iOS 10 taking less than 1% of the memory on a 16gb iOS device.
