Kendrick Dial is a teaching artist, musician, and consultant whose work bridges music, education, and community engagement. Inspired early by gospel music and oldies radio, Kendrick developed a deep appreciation for how contemporary sounds are rooted in earlier traditions, particularly through sampling. His passion for music continued during his service in the U.S. Navy, where he also began writing poetry—an outlet that became central to his creative voice. Over time, he combined spoken word and music, forming groups including his band, Lyrical Groove.
