Manfred Hibbing is known around the world as one of only a few top experts on RF Studio condenser microphones. He has designed and developed many award-winning innovations in microphone technology and he did it all at Sennheiser in Germany. Proud of his role in the company, he retired in 2005 from Sennheiser. His NAMM Oral History interview was completed on July 14, 2005.  

Stephan Peus started out his career with the Georg Neumann GmbH in Berlin in 1974. During his time with the company he developed numerous innovations in microphone technology including the first shotgun microphone that Neumann produced. When Sennheiser purchased the Neumann Company in 1991 Stephan Peus oversaw the integration of the two companies  concerning technical development as well as implementation into production.   

Professor Fritz Sennheiser was the head of an engineering team of German scientists assembled right after World War II to improve the function of the electronic microphone. Using his innovative designs, Fritz developed the first product line and formed a company called Sennheiser. Since its beginning in 1945, the company grew to develop a wide range of products in addition to the microphone, including speakers and headphones. Prof. Dr. Jörg Sennheiser grew up in the music business and proudly followed in his father’s footsteps in leading the engineering of the company his father, Fritz, formed back in 1945.  Sennheiser Electronics has been an industry leader with a string of innovative products and advances in the field of audio engineering.  Jörg was able to assemble teams that conducted cutting edge research techniques that helped create the foundation of the digital products Sennheiser has produced over the decades. Jörg continues to support the industry and has played a vital role in the training a

John Steven is a well respected marketing director from the United Kingdom who has worked with a string of pro audio businesses. He began in the industry working for Korg and later with Rhodes Music and KGa before connecting with Senniheiser UK. Even after leaving Senniheiser in 2008, John continued to work with the company via his own consulting business, John Stevens PR. At the time of his NAMM Oral History interview in 2011, John was among the names most suggested to be interviewed by customers and colleagues who new first hand of his role in our industry’s history.
