Jim Cowser

Jim Cowser is a respected manufacturers’ representative and longtime advocate for the pro audio and music products industry. As the founder of Cowser Marketing, established in 2001, Jim leads a successful independent rep firm serving the MI retail, production, integration, and broadcast markets across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. His team supports a wide range of partners, including AV consultants, integrators, production companies, and retail accounts, with a focus on technical expertise and customer service. Jim’s passion for music began at a young age, playing violin and later viola in school. A pivotal moment came when he heard Switched-On Bach by Walter Carlos, sparking a lifelong interest in synthesizers and electronic sound. He went on to work in live sound and in Southern California music stores, where he specialized in teaching synthesizer programming and helping customers navigate emerging technologies. A dedicated NAMM member, Jim first attended The NAMM Show in 1976 at the Disneyland Hotel and continues to embrace new developments in pro audio and music technology.
